Bellydance

dsc0035c.jpgBellydance, also known as “Oriental Dance” or “Raqs Sharqi” is one of the world’s oldest dances. It has a vocabulary that is rich, elegant and uniquely feminine. Women of any age can celebrate this beautiful dance, increasing grace, muscle tone and fluidity of movement.

Denise has over 20 years experience in Middle Eastern Dance as a student,teacher, performer and choreographer. Through out the years,she has explored and been inspired by many forms of dance and movement. Presently her practice of Tai Chi, Pilates and the Alexander Technique have the most profound affect on her dance and teaching.

 

Denise offers classes in Egyptian Style Bellydance ranging from beginner to advanced. It is important to her that classes are both safe and fun. Students are encouraged to learn and develop at their own pace. Special attention is given to learning movements with ease and proper alignment, always stressing the importance of the process.

Denise runs a bellydance program in Burlington; DM Bellydance at the Dance Centre for Adults. In Toronto, she teaches at her studio the Studio for Movement.
